It's a quiet morning here, and I'm not looking forward to how the warmth of the past several days won't be here in full-force today. But I still think it's going to be a good day. It's 6:22, and I've been up for about an hour already. I would say that I think it will be a good weekend, but I will just settle for a good day for now. As for tomorrow, we will see.
I emptied out the dishwasher.
Last night I came home and cleaned my apartment some. It is still a little messy. I don't know how I managed to clean, as pretty much all I did this week was work and sleep and find a few hours to watch the Star Trek movie, so I should have been super-tired. I think my cleaning efforts were the remnants of my work efforts - a bit of a way of winding things down.
I'm going to go for a walk this morning for a bit, and just check out the neighborhood some. Finally springtime. There are these tall, thin trees out in front of my building, and each spring they seem to be the last sets of trees on the street to bloom, and they are finally blooming.
At first I was kind of wishing that Bob Dylan had written his new album, but let someone else sing it because his voice sounded extra froggalicious, but now I just kind of appreciate that he leans into the craggly sound of his. His voice sounds older - why fight it? Instead, he uses it to an advantage on some songs, I think. Like maybe some younger people's voices just couldn't do what his can do now. I especially like, "I Feel a Change Comin' On." "The Times They are a Changin'," "Things Have Changed," and now "I Feel a Change Comin' On." Neato.
We had layoffs at work this week, which I managed to avoid. Fortunately. No one that I know was affected, either, but some people who work in my department in other parts of the country lost their jobs. Dom DeLuise died. My dad deleted his Facebook account. I made an effort to eat a good breakfast each day this week.
