Oct. 31st, 2010 09:45 pmBob Dylan played in Chicago last night. I did not go to see him. He played the Lonesome Death of Hattie Carol and Cold Irons Bound. He played on a night right around Halloween.
He's been doing that for a while - for so many years. Last year, Borja and I went to see him, and he played those two songs. I feel like he plays Hattie Carol because Chicago is such a racially segregated city. I don't really understand what he means by, "and you who philosophize disgrace, and criticize all fears," though. Philosophize disgrace? It's like some epic tale written by Bertol Brecht, though. The phrases are long, and the meter is ambling.

The guy who maintains those pages . . . he's been at it for a while. i've met him. he lives in madison (or, at least he did), and he would sometimes come down for shows in chicago. people call or email him after concerts, and they let him know the setlists, and he updates the pages. i like the web 1.0 style of his site. i'm sure he's got his own little workflow going. :)
