It's time to go to bed

I roasted a chicken on Friday night. This is just to say how exciting my night was. I actually cooked it breast-side down, but I had it sitting on top of onions, carrots, and celery, so it still came out ok. Still, it goes to show how clueless I am about cooking. I told my dad about how I wasn't so good at cutting it up, and he said it would come with practice. My mom said that it is good to cut the chicken in half . . . I'll have to give that a try sometime.

I had some of it, though, and it came out good. Plus, now I have some leftover stuff to make chicken soup. And waldorf salad. I frickin' love waldorf salad.

It was my friend Terry's 40th birthday on Thursday. A couple of us went out tonight to celebrate. They were going to stay out all night, and then meet up for breakfast at 5:15am. I left at 1:00-ish. I can't keep up with these 40-year-olds. :-P

Talking to kids about gays, giving them cigarettes

I can understand some controversy over talking with kids about same-sex relationships, but why is this kid smoking? People in Oak Park are crazy.

(edit: I know the child is not smoking a cigarette. my dad did not get the joke.)
