well, there's always the new year.
Dec. 25th, 2007 09:40 pmi got a text message from william today that said, "happy national holiday!" i laughed and told my family about it... but their expressions did not convey the amusement that i felt, and i realized that william's holiday greetings probably reinforced their notions of my friends as a bunch of liberal godless heathens who do not support our troops and think that freedom is free... not to mention that some of my friends might not eat a lot of meat.
so i felt obligated to mention that some of my other friends wished me a merry christmas (i didn't let on about "xmas" or "chrismus," though). maybe that helped, but i think they still thought it was a little weird that i was sharing greetings via text message.
ah, well. it's ok.
i told my dad that i hadn't been on any hot dates lately, and he said, "well, there's always the new year."
