(no subject)

someone stole my laundry basket/hamper from the laundry room tonight. wtf, people. don't we all live in the same building?

not only that, but they pulled the "leave your clothes in the washer or dryer for a long time after they're done so no one else can use the machines," thing.

that's so lame.

OMG, someone stole a load of eric's clothes from the dryer at the laundromat at Thorndale/B'way!

What was it, laundry thievery night?

Lame with a capital L.

Whenever people pulled the "leave your clothes in the washer or dryer for a long time after they're done so no one else can use the machine" I have just removed their clothing from said machine, plopped it on top of wherever, and gone about my business.

I think that Fight Club really reinforced to me that I keep a hawk eye out while I'm at a laundromat. My ex Kaylynn would just go, put her stuff in the washer/dryer, drive away, do something else, come back and do stuff. For me, I'd always park nearby, twitch whenever someone came near my washer or dryer, and when it wasn't spinning, have my stuff in arms reach. Sure, I'm bordering on paranoid, but I think it's necessary sometimes.

Sorry to hear that about Eric's stuff, that sucks.

Yeah, that's exactly what I did . . . I waited about 15-20 minutes after their stuff was done, but then, I just removed their stuff.

Fight Club instills and reinforces so many positive values . . .

I feel no guilt what so ever in moving laundry out of a machine once the cycle is done. I urge everyone to do it.

[identity profile] themiddlestates.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah . . . I did do it, but I waited about 15 minutes before doing so.

Yeah, you're generous - if they're not in sight, I always just threw their stuff on top of the machines - I expected other people to do that if I accidentally left my stuff in too long, too (no way in hell was I going to stand around in a creepy basement waiting on laundry). :-)

One building I lived in, it was almost tempting to always leave it because someone apparently had a clothes-folding fetish and anything I left them past being done, they unded up neatly folded on top. It was weird, but nice.

Yeah, the back door to my place is literally 3 steps from the laundry room, so i just went back to my place for those 15 minutes. i didn't wait in the laundry room. :)

i had a weird nice clothes-folding lady moment a while back, too.

p.s. i think i'm going to make it down to looptopia at around 10:30.

At my old apt if I wasn't there the moment the bell dinged my shit was taken out and thrown on the floor...actually, spoiled little brats did that at Smith too...I take stuff out and (if dry) fold it or leave it in a neat pile (if wet) and put my stuff in...but never on the floor!!

Yeah, on top of the dryer is ok . . . on the floor is pretty rude, though.
