Wow! I thought Buffalo was cold. It'ts 15 with heavy snow. We did have some sun this afternoon between snowfalls. It's just plain frigid in Chicago. Brrr. Keep warm!

Yeah, now it shows that it's -0.4 outside. It's only going to get colder, too. It's just past 6pm!!

I haven't gone outside today, and don't plan to. I've got two movies to watch on DVD, so I should be ok here for a bit. :)

Take care, John!

What weather applet or add on do you use?
I've got the ForecastFox for .. Firefox..

and yes, it's a darn smart idea to be in and away of doors, leaky windows, etc.

it's called a "gdesklet" add-on. :) there's a whole bunch of them . . . clocks, weather, calendars, system uptime, all sorts of crap. :)

awh, okay. For awhile, when I had more than just the laptop to work with I ran a variant of *nix. (redhat 7.x i think) Done just to mess around - pass time, of course :) I should have realized the interface.

Yeah, those were interesting days.

A friend of mine and I tried for the longest time to setup an NFS connection between our machines, on low-grade dsl speeds. It was frustrating but man, on cold winter nights, we entertained ourselves of hours. heh.

:) yes, linux is a lot easier to use now. it's still not really for everyone, but most of those who give it a try now don't really have much trouble.

i don't know if i'd be able to get an NFS connection going. i was pretty excited when I was able to update one PC from another PC here, and I hope to set up just a basic file server sometime this year, but otherwise, i'm no pro.
