I don't do triathletes

Wow, this blog is great. Good thing that i can balance out my need for blogging with other things that i need to do.

I went to see my brother compete in the triathlon yesterday. I cheered him on as he swam, encouraging him with words like, "Go, Jeff!," and "You're totally passing that guy!" I hung out while he competed in the other legs of the event, watching as all of the athletes motored along on their way to finishing in record times.

There were lots of things to see, but some things stuck out - I saw a guy using a snorkle in the swim portion of the race. I also saw a 6-year old kid sitting in a Buddha-like pose (legs crossed, eyes closed, fingers placed appropriately) on a park bench, and a woman wearing a tshirt that said, "I don't do triathlons, I do a triathlete."

I listened to that speech on the radio as I returned from my crappy job late this evening. They get their money's worth from me. I'll say that much.
